Rodents Worse Than Ever In Melbourne

Winter in Melbourne is particularly bad when it comes to rodent infestation, rats and mice can create havoc and leave you frustrated and sleep deprived.

In the twilight hours a noise waking you from your sleep, a noise so loud that it couldn't possibly be a rat sounds more like a possum, scratching and moving around so heavy footed that you wonder how the hell did he get into my roof. Let me assure you they are not possums but rodents, rats and mice to be specific making your roof, floor and wall voids home, during the unforgiving chill of Winter.

Letting rodents get out of control is not a wise move rats can cause major damage not to mention carry disease, so the quicker you eliminate a rat infestation the better.

Rats Eat A Melbourne Home from the Inside!

If you don't believe rats can cause major structural damage then check out this story recently aired on ten eyewitness news about damage caused by rats. The ceiling of a bathroom collapsed on top of the unsuspecting elderly homeowner, only to be found later by her daughter. Rats can chew through electrical wiring and plumbing pipes causing major water leaks and blackouts so the first hint of unusual noises in your roof or wall voids should be investigated and dealt with. Calling a professional pest control company is a wise move the technician will identify the problem and implement a pest management program, you can expect the rodent activity to start easing off even after a couple of days but you will need to be patient as rats and mice are extremely territorial, it will take approximately 4-6 weeks till all activity ceases. If your property is in an area that attracts rodent activity such as near a waterway or close to harborage areas such as neighbours who keep birds, chickens or rabbits, you may be required to carry out regular rodent control maintenance to keep your home pest free all year round.
